For the convenience of select clients, David Tyler maintains a voiceover recording facility at his home north of Montreal in the lower laurentians. Voicetracks are recorded using industry standard equipment fed directly to DAT for a flat, clean signal path. An analog phone-patch facilitates direction by a producer in a remote location.
ISDN Digital Transmission in real time is available by using the Musicam Roadrunner codec in either the MPEG Layer II, MPEG Layer III or G.722 [ "Switch-56" ]. For connection to APT-X [ "3D2" ] system, commonly used by commercial recording studios, Dolby Fax, or other protocols., a bridge connection may be required at nominal cost. There is no charge for studio time. The producer is billed only for talent, materials (DAT, CD, Mini-Disc) and overnight delivery charges, if any. You will find David's home voiceover facility to be satisfactory for most projects, however he is not in the studio business, click here for a recommend list of many fine full service recording studios and audio post-production houses in the Montreal area. Finished takes may be encoded as MP3 files and sent as email attatchments or via overnight delivery on DAT, CD or Mini-Disc. Utilities such as Mpecker drop decoder for the Mac Platform and Telos Systems Audio Active Studio for Windows 9X/NT may be used to convert the MP3 files back to .SDII, .AIFF (Mac) or .WAV (PC) files, read by most digital audio workstations.
